Timothy Warner had a workshop Research Design and Research Article Writing on June 4-8, 2018 for approximately 50 undergraduates, postgraduates, and doctoral students.
The one week workshop has five parts: “The Scholarly Publishing World; The Structure of Scientific Papers; Visual and Quantitative Communications; Scientific English; Submitting and Revising Your Paper”. Students were attracted by Professor Warner’s humorous professor. Many interesting stories and examples helped students understand. Everyone actively attended class and participated in discussion in the 5 days. The strong academic atmosphere encouraged students to focus on English writing and subjects.
In the end of the workshop, students did an evaluation of the workshop. In the evaluation, most students expressed that they gained a lot in the English essay writing and they like Professor Warner very much.
Timothy Warner is Professor of Geology and Geography at West Virginia University, in Morgantown, West Virginia, USA. He is a co-editor of Remote Sensing Letters, and editor in chief of the International Journal of Remote Sensing.
